Grow Solar Linn County is back in 2019! Offered by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association with the support of Linn County, Cedar Rapids, Marion, Mount Vernon, Center Point, The Nature Conservancy in Iowa, and Indian Creek Nature Center, homeowners throughout Linn County may participate in this program to help pool their buying power to secure discounts that make installing solar more affordable. This program builds on the success of the 2017 Solarize Cedar Rapids & Linn County program.
Start by attending a Solar Power Hour. Our free information session teaches you the basics of solar, its financial implications for your property, and how the Grow Solar Linn County program works. Then, get a free, no obligation site assessment from our competitively-selected installer. You have until October 31, 2019 to decide whether to get solar through the program. The Solar Power Hour calendar and program updates will be posted on this page on an ongoing basis.
UPDATE 10/28/19: Due to the popularity of the program and in the interest of giving everyone ample time to consider their proposal, the deadline to sign a contract and lock in Grow Solar Linn County pricing is being extended to November 15.
UPDATE 9/30/19: We have surpassed our second benchmark, 150 kW, resulting in an additional savings of $30/kW, for a total of $60/kW discount for all who go solar through the program ($444 for the average sized 7.4kW system). Although the Solar Power Hour presentations have come to an end, it’s not too late to get involved in the program. Click here or “Sign Up” above to sign up for the program and request a free, no-obligation site assessment.
UPDATE 9/5/19: We have officially surpassed our first benchmark of 50 kw of capacity, resulting in a deeper price break for everyone. This first price break is equal to $30/kW of installed solar capacity.
