Calling Municipal Officials: Attend The Energy Fair

June 11, 2015

The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) is offering FREE technical assistance and stipends to municipal officials and staff to attend upcoming solar workshops. With the support of the Department of Energy SunShot Initiative, free resources are available to municipalities and counties who require technical assistance for permitting, planning, and zoning, as well as specific training for electrical inspectors.

There’s also a free, convenient way to receive information about all of the above in a single day. At The 26th Annual Energy Fair, June 19-21, the MREA is hosting a track geared specifically toward municipalities and counties. Friday, June 19, will have workshops and presentations for municipalities covering what a solar-ready city looks like in general.

Topics of interest to municipalities include:

  • Solar basics for municipalities
  • Permitting, planning and zoning
  • NEC requirements and inspection
  • PACE financing
  • Community Solar
  • Municipalities and financial organizations

Interested in attending The Energy Fair? Stipends are available for municipal representatives to attend free of admission. To apply for a stipend, contact Peter Murphy at peterm@midwestrenew.org.
